Cookie Consent (“the App”) is a Shopify app operated by Amrita Labs (“we”, “us”). For questions, please use the support email shown on our Shopify App Store listing.
By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.
The App adds a visitor-facing cookie consent banner to your Shopify storefront and an admin page to enable and configure it. The banner relays the visitor’s consent choice to Shopify’s Customer Privacy API and, where you enable it, Google Consent Mode v2. We may update, improve, or change features over time.
The App provides a consent tool that helps you collect and respect visitor consent and supports your privacy program under rules such as the EU GDPR/ePrivacy, the UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA). The App does not make your store “compliant,” does not guarantee any legal outcome, and does not remove legal risk. Privacy compliance is an ongoing responsibility that also depends on your specific configuration, the cookies set by your other apps and theme, and your jurisdiction. You are responsible for your store’s privacy practices and legal compliance. Nothing in the App or its materials is legal advice.
Don’t misuse the App: no reverse engineering except as permitted by law, no interfering with its operation or security, no unlawful use, and no use that infringes others’ rights.
We retain all rights in the App and its code, design, and content. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App for your store while these Terms are in effect.
The App runs on Shopify and depends on Shopify and other infrastructure providers (and, where you enable it, Google’s consent signals). We aren’t responsible for those third parties or for changes they make.
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE APP WILL MEET PRIVACY OR LEGAL REQUIREMENTS OR BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your store, your use of the App, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end the App or your access if you breach these Terms or as needed to comply with law or platform policies.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
We may update these Terms; we will change the “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, note it in the App listing. Continued use means you accept the changes.
